Mthunzi is a local Malawian NGO, founded in 2017 in Blantyre. We are a passionate team of 35, led by founders John and Daniela Disi, walking alongside street-connected children every single day.
THE FOUNDERS
Founded on a calling, built on ten years in Malawi
John Disi is the Director of Mthunzi Ministries, and together with his wife Daniela they are the founders and leaders of the team, carrying the vision together. John is Malawian; Daniela is German. They met volunteering for a mission organisation in Brazil — a shared calling that would eventually lead them to Blantyre.
They have three children and have lived in Malawi for over ten years. Together with a passionate local team of 35 — including a management team of 5 — they have built Mthunzi from the ground up, one child at a time.

We are a Christian ministry, rooted in the belief that God loves every child deeply — without exception. Through prayer, discipleship, and living out God’s Word, we aim to reflect His heart in all we do.
Our faith is not just something we believe — it is the reason we get up each morning and go to the streets. It is the reason we do not give up on a child others have abandoned. It is the foundation on which every programme, every relationship, and every act of care is built.
